I am Barry Thomson. I was born in Bozeman Montana in 1961

I am a Traveler and a Minimalist.

Hey, putting together a Bio Page is rough.  How does a person define their life in a few paragraphs? Maybe people just want to see the highlights.  What makes you successful, what makes you different, give me a reason to read this and care.

The truth is that I am a little different. 

Not special, I had some opportunities and made some interesting life choices.  The ones that led me to travel for the last nine years, with a backpack, no fixed address to over eighty countries kind of set me apart.

I once thought that the coolest part of traveling was the sailing the oceans, climbing the Himalayas, walking the streets of Calcutta India. 

It turns out that as interesting as adventures are, they are just the back-drop, like the painted mountain scenes they used in the old western movie sets. The thing that makes it interesting for me is the everyday and often extraordinary people that stop to share a moment of their time with me. 

I seem to have the most unusual conversations with just about every one.

The majority of the people I meet each day if I am not involved in a project are likely to be taxi drivers, hotel clerks, the people who clean my rooms, and anyone that I happen to bump into. . I have made a lot of friends. 

And we are all just living our lives. More importantly, we are all living breathing stories.  Whether we are family, friends, lovers or brief encounters, we share some part of our-self, laughing, dancing crying, just passing the time and it brings us closer together.

We are all so very different, yet everyone loves a good story.

I had some time so I spent it making this web site, no coding.

It is a portfolio of the writings, photos and videos that I have created.

How to write a great biography

ASK YOUR SELF THESE QUESTIONS

About the Author. What is my name? Does it matter? How do I describe my life, What defines me. My training, my education? Tell the reader where I grew up. Where I live now. What do I hate? What positions of importance in society have I held.

How many languages do I speak? What sports am I proficient at. Tell them about my family. Would they understand? Do I have children? How many husbands or wives have I had? What activities do I like to do most? Who do I love? 

Is my attitude towards life in general optimistic, disappointed, frustrated, accepting?  What religious, political, civic, sports affiliated or social-media groups do I Identify myself with? Do I wear a baseball cap? Why?

Am I spiritual, sensual, easy going, droll, uncompromising, presumptuous or just vulgar? What would my mother say? What percent of the world’s population would consider my values to be moral? Does this define me?  

Do I drink too much? Do I sing, laugh, dance too little?  Do I like music? Do I play or make music?  Have I had my heart broken? Whose heart have I broken? Have I taken a life? What do I hate? Am I like my father?  My mother?

What is my darkest secret?
